NGIS win four Spatial Excellence awards

On Friday night NGIS were awarded in four categories at the 2016 Western Australian Spatial Excellence Awards, which celebrates the use of spatial information in the industry.

The awards came for projects that NGIS has worked on over the last year.

NGIS Managing Director Paul Farrell said the awards were a reflection of the dedication the team takes to each client’s projects.

“We are very proud to have won these four awards tonight and they show how our tagline People Partnership Success is something we live and breathe. These aren’t just awards for us, but also for our clients who are innovation leaders in their industries.”

Nominated in four out of five categories, it is the first time one company has won so many awards in a single ceremony.

NGIS won the award in the following categories:

Environment and Sustainability category – winner SWAN Systems

Innovation & Commercialisation – winner Green Precision (CSBP)

People and Community – winner Coastal Risk sea level (Coastal Risk Australia)

Spatial Enablement – winner FERTview (CSBP)

This now allows the four winners to participate in the national finals where we aim to show we are an innovative organisation in the spatial sector.

When most people think of Earth Observation (EO), they think of complex systems, long lead times, and imagery that’s already out of date by the time it’s delivered. Historically, satellite data has been the domain of specialists, slow to access, expensive to use, and challenging to scale. Planet takes a different approach. Built for speed, accessibility, and insight, Planet provides a fundamentally more agile Earth Observation capability. It’s designed to meet the needs of decision-makers, analysts, and operations teams who don’t just want data; they want answers, quickly.
