The Role

We are looking for an experienced Communications and Content Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for creating high-impact content that drives engagement and growth while ensuring clear, consistent communication both internally and externally.

We’re looking for a curious, self-motivated multitasker who takes the initiative to get up to speed quickly, asks thoughtful questions, and is comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy. At the same time, you’re a strong collaborator who can build relationships with subject-matter experts and take ownership of your work from idea through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Content Marketing and Strategy

  • Develop and produce original, high-quality, engaging content across digital and traditional channels, such as web, social, EDM campaigns, and print.
  • Write compelling capability statements, case studies, blogs, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Plan and manage content calendars, ensuring timely and consistent publication.
  • Manage social media channels, including scheduling, engagement, and performance tracking.
  • Analyse content performance metrics and provide insights to continuously improve content strategy.

Communications

  • Work with subject matter experts to translate complex technical updates into clear, engaging, and accessible content.
  • Develop and deliver tailored communication plans to support objectives for internal and external audiences.
  • Be a comms all-rounder with the ability to think strategically and execute to a high standard.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of communication plans for key initiatives, launches, and events
  • Contribute to media, PR, and external communication opportunities where relevant

Brand and Messaging

  • Translate technical and industry-specific information into clear, business-focused messaging.
  • Adapt tone, messaging, and structure across various channels and audience segments.
  • Proofread and edit content for clarity, tone, and accuracy.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve content quality, reach, and impact.
  • Ensure all content aligns with NGIS’ brand, values and style guidelines.
  • Evaluate communications and content effectiveness and continuously improve engagement outcomes.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity, integrating insights into content and communications.

Essential

  • 3–5 years’ experience in communications, marketing, journalism, or content development roles.
  • A degree in communications, public relations, marketing or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience delivering communications and content strategies in a complex environment.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and a solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong writing and editing capability.
  • Experience working collaboratively across teams.
  • Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
